A seminar on "Pharmaceutical Sourcing - Working with Indian Partners" was organised by OPPI at Scitech Center Mumbai on the 6th August 2010.
India is rapidly becoming a global hub for clinical research, with some of the world leaders setting up their base, either directly or through collaboration. This seminar threw light upon the India's strong role in the emerging pharmaceutical industry. The seminar had reputed speakers like Dr Bomi Gagrat - Executive Director- Tech operation, Pfizer, Mr .Vineet Luhariwala - COO Convenance, IPCA, Dr.Sudhir Nambiar - VP Pharmceutical Development, AstraZeneca, Dr.Saravankumar Dhakshinamoorthy - Principal & HOD, Aurigene Discovery Technology Ltd, Dr.Goutam Das - Chif Operating officer, Syngene, Dr.Balu Balasubramanian and Mr. Rohit Anand - MD, Value Research Services.
The seminar covered various topics like Pharma outsourcing where India's strong R&D role was discussed, Biosimilars - Challenges and Opportunities, Paradigm shift in Indian Service sector etc.
Seminar on Lyophilization & Ultra freeze drying by ACG Value links and Telstar.
On 8th July 2010 ACG Value links set up its first ever workshop seminar since in incorporation as a company on 1st June 2010. The one day seminar on " Optimization of Lyophilization Cycle & The Art of Ultra Freeze Drying" was conducted by internationally acclaimed expert Mr. Miquel Galan (Telstar Spain) at Scitech Center. 20 participants from various company across India participate in the seminar.

The presentation by Mr. Galan first explained various concepts in the Lyophilization process before moving towards specific case studies. The highlight of the show was the presentation tagged "Horror show" which gave examples of failed Lyophilization processes and product disintegration.
Indian Pharma Companies are still new to the concept of Lyophilization This event has was held to help the Indian Pharma market to leverage newer process technologies/techniques,in the field of Lyophilization thereby Improving Process Knowledge & Enhancing Product Quality. The seminar was great success as participants gained immense knowledge from Mr. Galan's vast experience.
It seemed that the seminar had just scraped the surface on the subject and more was yet to be learnt The need for second seminar was felt by the participants for better and deepened understanding on the subject. As India progressively moves towards the field of Bio Sciences, the future towards Lyophilization seems a most logical step. ACG Value links is proud that it took this first step in field mostly new to the Indian continent.

Seminar on New GMP Regulation for Dietary Supplements
On 8th June 2010 , HADSA - NSF jointly organised a seminar at Scitech Center Mumbai on the new GMP Regulations for dietary suppliments. Mr. Edward Wyszumila from NSF International started the seminar by giving a brief overview about the GMP Regulation and its importance. This included GMPs for Dietary supplements manufacturing and common areas of non-compliance.
This was followed by Mr. Chril Aiyer who provided details about NSF GMP certification program and how it can assist in GMP compliance. The in-depth review of what is necessary for GMP compliance in 21 CFR 111 and details of the regulations were discussed by Mr. Warren Majerus.

On 10th February 2010, On 10th February 2010, OPPI organised a seminar on evolution trends in supply chain management. Eminent speakers from various companies like Indian Railways, DHL Lemuir Logistics, KPMG, HUL expressed their views on the topic.
Speakers like Mr. Madhukar Nayak from Novartis and Mr. Siddhartha Pahwa from Piramal Healthcare also provided valuable insights on supply chain management from pharmacutical industry point of view.
